It’s no dirty secret that red is a much underrated colour when it comes to interior design. So we thought we’d show it some love with a mood board displaying of all the ways this lively colour can be used in the kitchen and bathroom…
1. Red hot radiator
Quick tip from Castrads:
Diamonds may be a girl’s best friend, but when it comes to interiors, it’s the rich hues of jewels which have the power to turn heads.
Every room needs a show-stopper, including a bathroom. Bright, energising shades such as ruby red are able to transform your bathroom into a sumptuous and romantic retreat.
Always anchor down deeply saturated shades with a soft base. If you’re taking the plunge with a gem-inspired radiator, keep your bathroom fixtures, flooring and ceiling a light or white shade to help bounce light around the room and create contrast.
2. Cooking suite
3. Red tap
4. Red rose light
Say it with flowers
Floral-themed decorations like The Rouge table lamp offer an updated take on red roses, with arresting details such as black and silver twisted metal stems and a chrome plinth.
5. Red cooker and cooker hood
6. Red bathroom relax lounger
Romance and relaxation
Comprising of three individual sections, which can be used singly or together, they can be connected to form a large reclining area over the whole bath, attached at the corners, turning it into an inviting resting area with an additional cushion.
Alternatively, one single section can be used as a bath bridge to keep books, magazines or drinks within easy reach while bathing. Measuring 1700x750mm, it also comes in the colours Anthracite, Beige and Chocolate.
7. Red tiles
The Hare Apparent tile comes from New Ravenna’s Kiddo collection which was created to inject fun and innocence into the sophisticated world of mosaics. Irminger says of the collection, “…like a mosaic dust covered Pied Piper, I want to lead the design community to a playful world full of whimsy, bold color and joyful surprises.”
